“What Doctors Don’t Tell You” survey

WDDTY June 2014The June issue of What Doctors Don’t Tell You first hit the shelves on 28th May.

Have you seen this magazine?

To take part in our survey, please look in your local stores and then email laura@goodthinkingsociety.org with the following information:

  • Name of store
  • Branch
  • Date of visit
  • Issue availability (May / June / not at all)

Importantly, please let us know either way. We want to know both about those supermarkets who are and those who are NOT stocking the magazine.

If you have raised the issue with store managers or with customer services teams, we are also interested to hear what you have been told – please get in touch.

Why are we conducting this survey?

As reported in The Times last October, scientists, doctors and patients condemned shops for selling a magazine which gives dangerously bad advice on vaccination and which has suggested that Vitamin C is an effective treatment for measles and AIDS.

What Doctors Don’t Tell You was initially available from WHSmith, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose, as well as some independent retailers. Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and, most recently, Tesco have all since confirmed that they have stopped stocking the magazine. However, it has reappeared on the shelves in Sainsbury’s and the May issue was available from Tesco – despite assurances that it would not be.

Because messages from retailers have been mixed and at times conflicting, we feel it is important to get a real understanding of availability around the country.

We will keep you informed of our findings and will let you know if we hear any further news from retailers.
